Preah Vihear is in genuine ‘outback’ Cambodia and remains desperately poor. This historic temple has been the subject of many turf wars between Cambodia and Thailand ever since the late 19th century, and for many past periods of time it has been unsafe to visit. The United Nations has adjudicated the temple as belonging to Cambodia.
Preah Vihear Temple is perched on the edge of a giant cliffs located in a pleasant environment with an attractive countryside, The temple has four levels and four courtyards which comprise of five Gopuras ( entrance pavilions some times surmounted by tower )
